A trip to Miranjani gives you both, the exultation of a hiking and the pleasure of picture skew beauties along the trekking way, ranging from mountainous plains, forests to the valleys. The track starts from governor’s house, passing through a mountainous terrain, clad with the tress of Pine, Maple, Oak and Walnut, merged in shrubs and various species of herbs, leading to Miranjani Peak, 2992 meters high, in Western Himalayan Range, at a distance of 80Km from Islamabad. To approach Miranjani Peak, one needs to traverse through dense forests, via steep track of 10 Km in length and takes about 6-7 hours of a power- walk. It starts with a sudden steep path, then goes normal and again lift you up with a steep track. Miranjani Peak lies within the territory of Ayubia National Park and is the highest peak of Abbottabad District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province. On a clear day, one can see the places including Abbottabad city, Thandiani, Havelian, River Jhelum and Tarbela Lake. The peak also offers a remarkable view of Nanga Parbat (Killer Mountain), on the Western Himalayan edge, at a distance of about 400km away.
